There is a magic to shopping in Paris that no other city can match.
Especially department stores are a great invention on those rainy days. One of
my favorites close to the Seine is Le
Bon Marché Rive Gauche, the oldest and most prestigious department store
of Paris.
Le bon Marche has this underrated elegance in my opinion and deserves
more recognition looking at the prestigious labels the LVMH group has gathered over
the years and the way they keep attaining their image being one step-up from
the others , every single year.
It was founded in 1852 by Aristide Boucicaut in a building designed by
architect Louis-Auguste Boileau ,as where the escalators are designed by Andrée
Putman bringing you a floor up into more and more astonishing sections of
fashionable luxury.
Do not forget to pass by the more trendy section of young labels &
collections of which my favorites Vanessa Bruno and Isabel Marant or the Grande Épicerie next door where you can
find the A-1 of the finest produce from France and around.
