Recently, a new crop of American hamburger spots have opened up in Paris.Just in a side street of hipster Rue des Martyrs you will find La Maison Mere, serving French-American oriented dishes in a chic canteen a la New York. The French school tables, the comfy armchairs and loungish music playing overhead gives you a “friends among others” feel. Although some claim it to be THE place for a real American burger, It’s more the cool, see-and-be-seen hotspot you are looking for.

For those who decided to commit to a rigorous regime after seeing those french women slipping into their skinny jeans – no worries! The card offers plenty of salads, soup and fish dishes too.

PARIS SEEN BY HOLLYWOOD EXPO

Paris, the city of love is the most shot location in Hollywood movies. Approximately 800 movies “ took place” in Paris over the past centenary of which mostly were reconstructed in the studios in America, at least until the 50’s. Ernst Lubitsch, with the reputation of being Hollywood's most elegant and sophisticated film director at the time , has set a remarkable amount of12 films in Paris without shooting one scene on location. "There is Paramount-Paris and MGM Paris, and of course, the real Paris" ,he once remarked. 

Today Hotel de Ville brings together a broad collection of archived documents on how American cinema has represented the French capital for over a century. The exposition includes movie sets from John Huston’s “Moulin Rouge” , dresses designed for Audrey Hepburn by Hubert de Givenchy and monumental statues created by the designer Dante Ferreti for Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo”.

While you are at Onar do not plan to do much.Onar is an isolated seaside spot located far down a bumpy dirt tract in the middle of nowhere. A perfect zen spot with eight minimalist-chic stone cottages on the extremely rural location on the east coast of Andros - Greece's most underrated island. 

There are a number of luxuries for being out here that you don't get at many resorts ;no WiFi, no shops, no nightclubs ,very few people and no traffic. Just silence and seclusion.

You are exposed to nature as it should be; an uncrowded stunning pale blue bay with a sandy beach where you can gaze at night to the stars, a trickling stream ,a beautiful landscape and an occasional bleat from the goats in the valley is all you can expect .Time does not exist here.

The restaurant has a pretty communal outdoor dining area which serves delicious local,organic foods under pretty shaded plane trees. The whole concept of this resort  is more "friends among others" than hotel.

For those who seek nature, space, the roaring of the sea and quietness, it's just about perfect....
